Outstanding Teacher Award Fall 2024
BYU English Language Center
Each semester, one teacher at the BYU English Language Center receives the Outstanding Teacher Award. The ELC is home to many incredible educators who are dedicated to their students' success, many of whom are also pursuing their MA TESOL degree. Given the caliber of my colleagues, I was honored to receive this award in the Fall 2024 semester.
Three-Minute Thesis 1st Place Winner
College of Humanities
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is an academic speech contest where graduate students present their research in just three minutes using a single static slide. The goal is to communicate complex research clearly and concisely to a non-specialist audience while maintaining engagement and impact. In my 3MT presentation, I shared how I developed frequency-based vocabulary materials for the Foundations A and B levels at the BYU English Language Center. At this event, I competed against other graduates in the College of Humanities who had won their department-level competitions.
