Foundations B Vocabulary Materials
In the fall of 2024, I created frequency-based vocabulary materials for the Foundations B level at the BYU English Language Center. The materials focus on 12 Quizlet flashcards sets, each with 20 words, which include the 240th most frequent word to the 480th most frequent word in English based on the COCA database. Also included are instructions for the teachers and students, assignments, assessments, and surveys for the students.
Listening Activity: Canadian Poutine
This activity is focused on building students' abilities to listen for details and paraphrasing when they speak. Students use QR codes to access online videos as they learn how to cook Canadian Poutine. It is designed for Intermediate-Mid students at an Intensive English Program.
